About
Tiki
The
goldsmith, Ms. Tiki Carpenter (or L.T. Carpenter) is a native
Coloradoan. She first became a silversmith in Colorado and
worked in a silversmithing and Indian Jewelry shop boasting
one of the finest collections of Indian Jewelry in the nation.
Ms. Carpenter apprenticed with a dozen Native Americans who
bestowed upon here the name "Fire Squaw" once she became an
accomplished silversmith. Here an understanding of Indian
Jewelry and Southwestern style Jewelry, how it is made and
how to repair it was mastered.
Next,
several years were spent in California acquiring fine goldsmithing
skills while working at San Marcos Towne Jewelers, Weck's of
Escondido, and acouple of years doing contracts of gold manufacturing
for a "Trader" in diamonds, precious gems, and manufacturer
of gold jewelry. While in California, she was nominated for
and published in Who's Who in California for outstanding accomplishments
in the arts.
After
acquiring skills in goldsmithing, she moved to Portland Oregon
where she became a Certified Diamond-Setter at Ray Schow's School
of Diamond-Setting. There she also studied casting, metal-work,
and electroforming with two other resident pioneers in these
fields. She then resumed work for awhile in California.
In
1983 she returned to her beloved Colorado. Since her return,
she has owned and operated Carpenters' Jewelry Originals and
Goldcrafters. During her tenure in Colorado, she also
maintained a successful mail-order line, was twice nominated
and published in Who's Who, won an industry award, and was featured
in several cover page articles.
Tiki
also has an avid interest in prospecting. She is currently involved
in a project for a national treasure hunting association. Teaming
with her beloved associate, accomplished geologist Mr. John
S. Williams, they act as host and tour guides on field trips
to La Plata Canyon, Colorado providing geological and historical
information.
Tiki
personally inspects and repairs every item received by Goldcrafter,
thus reasonable time must be allowed for the meticulous attention
involved.
